The 4-H rented the camp recently for their annual youth camp. The kids enjoy all the amenities the camp offers: they learn how to safely kayak the lake, use the archery area, play kickball in the field, sleep in bunkbeds, do arts and crafts in the craft rooms, and of course feast in the large mess hall.
This year U.S. Fish and Wildlife, who have a sea lamprey station set up on the property, gave a special presentation. The kids were able to learn about the native and non-native Lamprey, and even (for those brave enough) had a hands-on experience with them.
The 4-H has a long history with the Outdoor Center, and we are always happy to see the camp bustling with activity.
