On March 28, 2025 a devastating ice storm hit many counties of Northern Michigan, including all of Presque Isle County. The trees and power lines at the Outdoor Center sustained significant damage. Fortunately, the buildings remained unharmed, and PIE&G successfully repaired the lines. Clean up began at the beginning of May. Due to the extensive volume of debris, it has been a long process and is expected to continue into the summer.
The Outdoor Center was able to open as scheduled and welcomed their first renters at the end of May.
